The bucket helmet is one of THE icons of the entire Middle Ages, not least because of the fascination with crusaders. The model for our motif is the so-called Dargen helmet, one of the oldest originals of this type of helmet, which was found on the Schlossberg Dargen (Northern Germany).
This type of helmet was the first to protect the face and neck with a construction made of rigidly connected steel plates and, thanks to the closed front, also made a significant contribution to the development of heraldry.

Der Kübelhelm ist nicht zuletzt durch die Faszination für Kreuzfahrer eine DER Ikonen des gesamten Mittelalters. Das Vorbild für unser Motiv ist der sog. Dargen-Helm, eines der ältesten Originale dieses Helmtyps, der auf dem Schlossberg Dargen (Norddeutschland) gefunden wurde. Dieser Helmtyp schütze erstmals Gesicht und Nacken mit einer Konstruktion aus steif verbundenen Stahlplatten und trägt durch die geschlossene Front nebenbei auch maßgeblich zur Entwicklung der Heraldik bei.
